The same cute Miku we've all come to love is wearing a dark blue yukata with beautiful flower prints scattered along it, creating a very refreshing version of Miku for the hot summer months! She comes with three expressions including her standard smiling expression, a shy expression with a slight blush and an exited expression with sparkling eyes. She also comes with a fan and a pouch that suit her yukata perfectly!

It's a painted ABS&PVC non-scale articulated figure with stand included.
Approximately 100mm in height.

Only for 3,000円 Yen (~$27), this mikuchan figure can be ordered from the Good Smile & Karaoke no Tetsujin Cafe Akihabara store from the 18th September until the 14th October.

Hatsune Miku Instant Yakisoba @ FamilyMart

FamilyMart, a convenience store franchise chain in Japan, is having a special promotional campaign with Hatsune Miku to celebrate her 5th anniversary.

One of the interesting items offered in the convenience store is this special Hatsune Miku Instant Yakisoba.

Since it's Hatsune Miku, this bowl of Yakisoba comes with special Negi seasoning. Yum~

The packaging is so cute I wish I could fly over to Japan now and buy a dozen of them, and eat one of those before catching the 9th Naruto movie (Yes! It's screening in Japan now!) in the theatre. How nice would it be!

Extra Information:
FamilyMart is a convenience store franchise chain first opened in Japan and Japan's third largest convenience store chain, behind 7-Eleven and Lawson, and the largest chain store in South Korea.

All of the usual Japanese convenience store goods such as basic grocery items, magazines, manga, soft drinks, alcoholic drinks like sake, nikuman, fried chicken, onigiri, and bento are available.

FamilyMart's official motto is "FamilyMart, Where You Are One of the Family."

The highest located convenience store, a Family mart, is located in Taipei in the skyscraper Taipei 101.

Comedians do good with cheeky calendar

Television shows have found a new way to promote themselves and have a little fun.

When the men of MBC reality show "Infinite Challenge" made their first calendar three years ago, they didn't know it would be such a hit or that it would do so much good. Neither did they know they would spark a trend in television.

But that's exactly what happened.

The show started the calendar project in 2007 as a way to raise money for charity, and the project has been a great success so far, with the show raising 113.7 million won ($98,000) from sales of its 2010 calendar and donating the money to the Green Umbrella Children's Foundation in November. Excluding production costs, all of the proceeds from the calendar sales are given to charities.

As of Dec. 8, the show had sold 700,000 2011 calendars, which is far higher than the previous year's record of 500,000. Desk calendars go for 4,000 won and wall calendars go for 5,000 won.

"Infinite Challenge" features seven star comedians competing in a new, and funny, mission each week.

This year, the show decided to make the calendar photo shoots interesting with a friendly photo competition. The comedians designed their own photo shoots each month and a panel of judges chose the best, and worst, photos of the bunch, putting the best photo in the calendar for that month. The celebrities who came in last two times were eliminated from the competition. In the last month of the competition there were three stars remaining and the cover model was chosen from among them.

Calendars published by television shows are catching on among viewers. The reality show "Infinite Challenge", top, and hit drama "Secret Garden" have received thousands of orders for 2011 desk and wall calendars. Provided by the shows

In the comedic spirit for which the show is famous, there was another penalty for the celebrities who got eliminated. They had to pose for cheeky photos, partially in the flesh, that ultimately appear on the calendar's back page. The winning star not only won the right to be on the cover but also received a small block of gold.

The cover model winner was announced and the photos revealed on a special episode of the show broadcast earlier this month.

All of the publicity has given the calendar's sales a boost. Next year's calendar has actually been so popular that there is a long waiting list. A customer ordering a calendar this week will have to wait at least a month before receiving it, according to the calendar's Web site.

Lim Mi-ah, 30, a librarian, is one of the fans waiting for her calendars to be delivered.

"It has become a yearly ritual for me to purchase the 'Infinite Challenge' calendars. This is my third year buying them", Lim said.

She purchased 10 desk calendars this year, for a total cost of 40,000 won ($36).

"My friends love it when I give [the calendars] to them as gifts because it's hard to get a decent calendar these days", she said.

Since the 1997 Asian financial crisis, companies have reduced the number of calendars they print and distribute for free.

While "Infinite Challenge" may see calendar-making as a charitable venture, other shows have also latched onto the idea as a way to promote their shows. For example, the SBS hit television drama "Secret Garden" started producing its own calendar this year.

"We decided to publish just 3,000 calendars to celebrate our high audience share, but in two days we received pre-orders for 12,000 calendars", said Roh Jung-hyun, a vice team head at Contents Hub, an SBS affiliate that develops promotional products for the network.

"Secret Garden", the story of a rich man and tomboy who swap souls, had an audience share of 28 percent as of the second week of December, the highest among Saturday-Sunday prime time dramas.

The desk calendar, which has photos of leading actors Hyeon Bin and Ha Ji-won, costs 12,000 won - more expensive than other calendars - but that hasn't stopped fans of the show from buying it. As of this week, Contents Hub said it had received approximately 20,000 orders for its calendar.

Other popular programs also sell calendars. The KBS drama "Marry Me, Mary!" featuring actress Moon Geun-yeong and actor Jang Geun-seok makes desk and wall calendars. Television dramas "The Slave Hunters" and "Sungkyunkwan Scandal", which have ended their runs, both sold calendars as well.

But why calendars?

"Everyone needs calendars", Roh said. "It is a very accessible and practical item. It also allows us to promote our show all year".

According to news reports today, there are already more than 400,000 pre-orders for the book, based on information from stores across the country.

“I feel obliged to receive this honorable award. I’m grateful that my very first work was chosen as grand prize among many entries, especially since it was evaluated without recognizing ‘Mizushima Hiro’s name," Mizushima said.

The winner of the Poplar Publishing Grand Prize for Fiction receives a prize amount of 20 million yen, however, according to his new management agency, A stAtion, Mizushima declined the prize. The reason for his declination, is that he wants them to use the money to assist new talented writers.

Hiro Mizushima also talked about the rumor of him being kicked out from Kenon (his previous agency), because he got married with Ayaka without telling the agency. He emphasized that he was the one who left the agency, and the relationship with the agency is still good. It’s Michael in the Sky!

\Below is a fan-vid that features a Michael Jackson figurine toy playing hide and seek around the town - sliding into playgrounds and soaring through the sky. The figurine is made by a toy company called Marusan. They’re known for classic monster figurines made of soft vinyl.

MJ (short for Michael Jackson) still remained very popular in Japan, even after he became known as Wacko Jacko. He held his History concert in Tokyo several years ago and adoring fans were still fainting at the shrill of a high note. But will they faint for a vinyl Michael? Probably not, but it’s still cool to see him as an action figure. He comes in two versions with removable masks: A werewolf and a zombie, both a la ""Thriller".

You probably can’t pose him like you do with GI Joe figurines, but watching the videos makes the toy look fun. The entire time, the kids are asking, “Where’s Michael?!….oh there he is!” The doll is a whopping $58 in Japan, which I suppose doesn’t sound as bad in yen. I can totally imagine all kinds of MJ collectors buying it for their showcase.

Came across this MJ collectible item on Amazon.

Price: $15.13
Stock: only 3 left

This cool t-shirt features Michael Jackson as King Of Pop!

I think the golden silhouette of MJ looks cool. MJ's classic dancing posture. Kakoii!

Rest in peace, Michael!
