Shinhwa, new models for Chicken Mania

Korea's long-lasting idol group Shinhwa (神话; 神話), who was chosen as the new CF model (replacing f(x) ) for fried chicken franchise brand "Chicken Mania", recently finished their photo shoot in October 2012 for the company's special-edition 2013 calendar that will be issued out to chicken lovers who order from their restaurants from December 3rd until the calendars run out of stock.

Each member was given a different concept during the shoot, such as Sweet Guy, Confession Man, Autumn Man, and New Year’s Greetings.

According to a staff member on set, the six members brought a cheerful and passionate atmosphere during the photo shoot that can’t be seen with younger idol groups.




Chicken Mania will be starting a new brand campaign with Shinhwa called "A Delicious Legend, the Shinhwa of Chicken" with new dishes to be launched on the menu.

Yoon Eun Hye endorses Pigeon's Actz Laundry Detergent

Months ago, beautiful actress and former Baby V.O.X member, Yoon Eun Hye (尹恩惠) inked an endorsement deal with the Korean Pigeon Corporation to endorse their Actz Laundry Detergent product.



The CF also features an adorable baby biting everything it can get its hands on, but no need to worry because Actz arrives to save the day. Check out the adorable CF below!

So Ji Sub models for new smartphone, ‘TAKE’

Hallyu star So Ji Sub (Hangul: 소지섭; Hanja: 苏志燮) recently participated in a CF photoshoot for KT Tech’s new premium smartphone, ‘TAKE‘, and demonstrated why he’s considered one of the ‘blue chips of the advertising world’ in Korea.



"So Ji Sub recently won the 'International Style Icon' award at the 3rd 'Style Icon Awards' recently, and has been acknowledged as a Korean representative for actors. We thought he would be able to elevate the image of this simple and refined design, as well as the feel of our new smartphone product," said a representative of KT Tech.

So Ji Sub also participated in the official MV shoot of 'TAKE'.

The project album, 'TAKE', contained a remake of the 1985 smash hit, 'Take On Me', originally sung by A-Ha, and covered by 'Superstar K Season 1' winner Seo In Guk.

Meanwhile, a teaser commercial featuring So Ji Sub was unveiled on November 22nd, and the full CF is scheduled to broadcast on TV from the 28th onwards.

Infinity Challenge's Bibimbap CF Aired in Times Square, NYC

A video advertisement for the popular Korean food, bibimbap, has been on display at Time Square in New York since November 26.

Produced by Muhandojeon, an entertainment show on MBC, the video uses representative aspects of Korean culture like farmer's musicn called "Nongak" in Korean, folk dances, non-verbal performances, and taekwondo to create the impression of a bowl of Bibimbap.



Last year, the same company had a print ad in the New York Times asking, "How about BIBIMBAP for lunch today?"



"Global trends in foods are turning towards eating healthy food like Bibimbap, which is rice mixed with vegetables and meat", said Seo Kyung-duk, a Korean PR expert and visiting professor at Sungshin Women's University. "We'll promote Bibimbap and Korea to the world through various media, including this advertisement and social network services", he added.

The advertisement will be displayed once every thirty minutes until the end of December.

The ‘Bibimbap’ advertisement produced by MBC’s “Infinity Challenge” is aired in New York’s iconic Times Square!

Last year, the members of “Infinity Challenge” worked to spread international awareness about Korean cuisine and decided to create an advertisement for ‘bibimbap‘, as inspired from the famous ‘Nanta‘ performances. Bibimbap is a popular dish that has a white rice base, which is then layered with a colorful and fresh mix of vegetables and meat; a cracked egg sits on top, and it’s all mixed together with some Korean chili pepper paste.

Over 200 different students from Seoul Arts University participated in the CF, in addition to the “Infinity Challenge” members and the Nanta performers. The result was a stunning and vibrant CF, which also exhibited other traditional Korean arts such as nongak, janggu dance, tae kwon do, the fan dance, and ganggangsullae.

The 30-second CF is featured on Times Square’s TQS electronic display from November 25th to the end of December; it will play twice per hour for a total of 48 plays a day.

Jang Geun Suk to hold Meet & Greet event in Thailand in Jan 2011?

根據泰國飯的消息,明年1月份張根碩(錫) 會到泰國為 Ole Beauty 糖果品牌站台還是什麼的活動,可能只限 100 名粉絲入場。看來愛他的超級粉絲要開始籌錢買機票和訂酒店了!

According to a Thai fan, Jang Geun Suk(Seok) will have a Meet & Greet event in Thailand next year January to promote the Thailand candy brand Ole Beauty. I don't know if this piece of rumour is confirmed yet, but I sure hope it's true!

Lee Seung Gi Renewed CF Contract with Pizza Hut

On 18th November 2010, Pizza Hut Korea revealed that it plans to renew their endorsement contract with Lee Seung Gi (Chinese: 李勝基) for the 2011 year.  It was said that Seung Gi’s CFs and related promotions had a great response and helped in branding Pizza Hut with a bright and happy image.



Having maintained his number one ranking as the model most desired by advertisers for the second straight year, Seung Gi’s sincerity and ability to bring about laughter with his playful charms through his commercials have had a strong effect on endorsement sales.  After signing Seunggi as its endorsement model, Pizza Hut Korea saw an increase from 5% to 12% in commercial awareness and preference among consumers.

As the main endorsement model for Pizza Hut for the past year, in addition to his CFs, Seung Gi was also actively involved in Pizza Hut related events such as a fan meeting, world cup cheering events, and world hunger campaigns; all of these things contributing to what was referred to as the "Lee Seung Gi effect".  Pizza Hut Korea revealed that its contract renewal with Lee Seung Gi for a second year was a first for its company.

According to a Pizza Hut Korea representative, "Lee Seung Gi’s bright and sense of closeness charms were a good fit for the brand's image, and thus had a great response from consumers, and also resulted in increased sales for the company."  He added, "We hope to be a brand that brings even more fun and happiness to patrons in 2011 with Lee Seung Gi as our model."

A new Pizza Hut CF is scheduled to start airing on November 26 and will mark the start of Seung Gi's 2011 activities as Pizza Hut model.

Yoon Eun Hye Perfectly Dressed in Louis Vuitton Fall 2010 Collection





Yoon Eun Hye (Hangul: 윤은혜; Hanja: 尹恩惠) the famous actress from Korean smash TV series Princess Hours (Hangul: 궁; Hanja: 宮) attended the 5th "Love Your W" Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign Charity event held by the "W Korea" fashion magazine at the Seoul Jamwon Pradia on 28th. She was dressed in apparels from Louis Vuitton Fall 2010 ready-to-wear collection, the stretch wool pinstripe corset top with warp print faille back knot skirt, boldly revealing both sexiness and elegance despite the cold, befitting the title of fashionista. With her cute, short wavy hair style and light makeups, there was a lovely, charming air of innocence around her.


A representative of the event stated that Yoon Eun Hye has been an active member of this campaign, and attended previous charity events as well, then further stated that the theme for this year is focused on the beauty of woman's healthy body (chest). It was encouraged that all the volunteers are dressed to fit the theme, and Yoon Eun Hye did a great job.

Indeed she looks gorgeous in this sweet-looking retro ensemble. Would it be nicer if she wore a belt around her torso like what the model above did on the runway? As for her choice of shoes, the noir-colored Beauty Pump in velvet was seen at Louis Vuitton’s Fall/Winter 2010-2011 show. This elegant pointed-toe pump in rich velvet comes with a strass-embellished retro block heel and an oversized satin bow. The heel is encrusted fully with Swarovski strass. Totally lust-worthy.
