Annual Independent Critics List of the 100 Most Beautiful Famous Faces

The Annual Independent Critics List of the 100 Most Beautiful Faces, which has been published, in various formats, every year since 1990… and in recent years has been seen by millions of unique visitors from around the world, has revealed the 100 most beautiful faces of 2010!

This list is only about beautiful celebrity faces. Unlike the Maxim, FHM, Askmen & People lists, it is not based on the “sexiest”, “hottest” or “best body”. As this is an international list with input from all over the world, you may discover some relatively unfamiliar faces. Despite fame being a prerequisite, it is certainly not based purely on public popularity. There will definitely be a few big name exclusions because of the specific criteria evaluated — Some who would make the “sexiest” lists may not be known for their facial aesthetic. Over 75 countries have been represented in the Top 100 over the years.

Actress Song Hye Kyo is the first Korean woman to make it on the annual list in its 21-year history. Japan's Nozomi Sasaki, in 33rd place, was the only other Asian on this year's list.

Surprisingly, she did not only take a place in the list but also secured a place in the top 20, placing 18th. She is also the first Korean actress to rank this high on the chart, which is a great achievement for herself and Korea.

The website picks its favorite celebrities based strictly on their face, and predicted that Song may jump higher on the list next year. "We look forward to seeing her in next year's Top 10," it said.

Song ranked higher than many global celebrities including Monica Belluci and Scarlett Johansson who came in at 25th and 42nd, and Jessica Alba and Megan Fox at 53rd and 64th.

First place went to U.S. model and actress Camilla Belle, while Emma Watson, star of the "Harry Potter" movies, was runner-up.

Korean boy band JYJ [Prain Inc.]

Korean boy band JYJ, composed of former TVXQ members Hero Jaejung (or Jaejoong), Micky Yoochun and Junsu, will likely take the stage at the 2010 KBS Drama Awards, making it the first time they will perform on television since debuting as a trio.

"It's not 100% confirmed as of yet but we in currently in talks with JYJ for a congratulatory performance during the 2010 KBS Drama Awards", a high-ranking official from KBS said. "It would be great if they performed the song 'Calling You' from the drama 'Sungkyunkwan Scandal' since Micky Yoochun gave such a memorable performance in the drama".

He went onto explain that they are fine-tuning on several details including how many songs JYJ will sing at the awards ceremony.

Jaejung (Hero), Micky Yoochun and Junsu made their debut in 2004 as part of the popular boy band TVXQ, but despite their phenomenal success in Asia, they ceased their activities as a group after being involved in a legal dispute with the Korean agency SM Entertainment.

They made a comeback to the music scene in October as a trio under the name JYJ and released their worldwide studio album "The Beginning" on October 14, kicking off their global showcase to promote their album and themselves in Seoul and the United States.

JYJ recently held two series of show titled the "JYJ Worldwide Concert in Seoul" at the Main Olympic Stadium in Jamsil last month.

For two months from late August, Micky Yoochun had starred in KBS' 20-episode series "Sungkyunkwan Scandal" alongside cast members Park Min-yeong, Song Joong-ki and Yoo Ah-in. The show fared moderately well, posting ratings in the mid-ten percent range toward the end of its run.

Yoo Ah-in and Song Joong-ki from Sungkyunkwan Scandals choosen by viewer for "The Best Couple Award" in 2010 KBS Drama Awards.

A representative of KBS’s variety team revealed, “Due to the aggressive recommendations and support the press corps have shown, we were able to confidently put the ‘Song Joong Ki and Yoo Ah In’ couple as nominations for the ‘Best Couple Award’. We predict that they will receive just as many user votes as the other hetero couples in the viewers votes.”

Even though the couple is said to be ‘just friends’, if the two should win the award, it would prove to be a great step towards a positive reception of the queer community in Korea!

"2010 KBS Drama Awards" is scheduled to be broadcasted on December 31st.
Check out KBS official website for details of all the KBS dramas nominated this year.

Lee Da Hae held surprise fan meeting after winning award @ 2010 China Fashion Awards

Korean actress Lee Da Hae (李多海) was in Beijing to attend the 2010 China Fashion Awards held at the Shanghai World Expo on November 27, where she received the award for top Asian fashionista.

"Thank you for honoring me with such a big award and I will try to pay even more attention to my fashion. I thank China for the great love you have shown me and I will repay you with better acting", Lee was quoted as saying in the press release.

This is the second time for a Korean to win the award -- Song Hye Kyo was last year's recipient of the prize handed to the most fashionable celebrities in Asia in several categories including model, singer and actor.

China Fashion Week took off in 2001 mainly to promote home-grown fashion industries in China. Some 20 celebrities attended this year's event including Tony Leung, Elva Hsiao, Charlie Young Choi Nei, Dylan Kuo, Eddie Peng and music band "Fahrenheit".

Lee, 26, debuted in 2001 and has appeared in many hit Korean dramas including "My Girl" (2005), "Green Rose" (2005) "East of Eden" (2008) and "The Slave Hunters" (2010).

She has also participated in various types of charity work and became the first Korean actress to receive the Presidential award for frugality this year.

Lee later tweeted her photos (below) taken with the celebrities.

After the event, Lee Da Hae surprised her fans in China with an impromptu fan meeting when she realized that 300 fans had showed up to the award ceremony to see her. She organized a meet-and-greet session for them, arranged the location, prepared refreshments, and signed autographs for her fans.

Lee said that she hoped her fans had had a good time at the meeting. "It was great to meet the fans that I only kept in contact with through my Weibo (microblogging) site, and it's interesting to see that I can set up an on-the-spot fan meeting just by using my social network service."

Her fans must have been thrilled!
