2010 Japan Fashion Leader Awards & Vogue Nippon's Women of the Year

Publishing company Takarajimasha held its 2010 Japan Fashion Leader Awards in Roppongi Hills on Thursday. This year's recipients were actresses Meisa Kuroki, Miki Nakatani, and Hiromi Nagasaku, as well as model Rinka, who won the award for her second consecutive year.

The awards were established last year with participation from 3 major fashion magazines, which grew to a total of 9 magazines this year. Besides Rinka, last year's winners were actresses Ryo and Ryoko Hirosue.

This year November, fashion magazine Vogue Nippon presented its 6th Women of the Year awards. Eight women were honored this year, including Satomi Ishihara (23), Meisa Kuroki (22), and Miliyah Kato (22).

The other recipients were actress Tamiyo Kusakari (45), mangaka Rieko Saibara (46), fashion model TAO (25), actress Shinobu Terajima (37), and tennis player Kimiko Date Krumm (40). However, Krumm was unable to attend the ceremony as she is currently overseas for a tournament.

Vogue Nippon has opened a special webpage for the awards, featuring video comments from each of the eight recipients.
