A sightseeing train decorated with photographs of Hallyu star So Ji Sub (苏志爕, 33) will begin operating from this year's Christmas on December 25.
So Ji Sub's agency 51K said on December 13 that Kangwondo had decided to operate the tourist train entitled "Hallyu Romance Train" (working title), in which So Ji Sub's large photos are printed, from December 25, and the train will run between Seoul and South Chuncheon Station twice a day every weekend. The photographs to decorate the train came from So Ji Sub's photo essay entitled "So Ji Sub's Road" that he had created while he had traveled all around the Kangwondo region. His agency said, "So Ji Sub will be the first star actor in Korea whose photographs are decorated on the train". The marketing department for tourism in Kangwondo said, "Thanks to So Ji Sub's participation, we will be able to present beautiful memories of a train trip to many tourists from home and abroad, and those people might also have a good opportunity to enjoy the beautiful scenery of Kangwondo".
So Ji Sub will participate in the opening ceremony on December 25, and parents and children from multicultural families will be invited and travel from Seoul to South Chuncheon station by taking the train.
So Ji Sub had been named for the first honorary ambassador for Kangwondo on September, and Kangwono had been planning to build a road named after him called "So Ji Sub Road", which will be completed in the summer of 2012, in Yanggu-gun. So's agency delivered the statement, "People in Kangwondo have evaluated So Ji Sub's influence highly and said that after So Ji Sub's photo essay 'So Ji Sub's Road' had been published, many readers from home and abroad have continuously been asking for information about a DMZ tour".
So Ji Sub takes readers on the road in his new photo essay collection. The book features photos and stories from his trip to the DMZ and other locations in Gangwon Province.
So Ji Sub had appeared in the MBC drama "Road No. 1", which finished airing last August, and he is now looking at scripts for his next work.
